A crew from G. Little Construction is working to replace siding on the building at 936 Water Street in downtown Port Townsend.

The building, built in 1890, is best known as the home to Abracadabra.

The renovation effort is being spearheaded by
G. Little Construction, and the company received permits for the work from the city of Port Townsend for the repair job in late March.

Trent McKnight of G. Little Construction called the work a face lift —  “freshening up one of our Victorian gems” — and said damaged trim and siding is being replaced. Painting the replaced pieces will follow.

Part of the sidewalk on one side of Water Street was closed off last week as workers focused their attention on the top of the facade of the two-story wood building.

McKnight said the project is expected to be finished in about two weeks.
