G. Little Construction is known for high quality craftsmanship and staying on the edge of modern construction practices. We stay on the edge, and add value to your project, by continuing to learn more about what we do.
Of course we read the trade magazines and attend relevant conferences. But the biggest component of our continued education is the National Association of Home Builders. In particular, the NAHB Builder 20 program.
The Builder 20 program places groups of 20 similar builders from around the country. Bob Little has been involved in the Builder 20 program for the past four years.
Builder 20 offers the opportunity to stay up to date on best practices, products, and equipment. Within the Builder 20 Group we can examine construction trends and practices, and discuss issues unique to our business to gain a new perspective. Meeting with 20 builders from other areas of the country has helped Bob improve his skills and knowledge as a builder.
As an example of what we learn at these meetings, the September 2013 meeting was hosted by Thermador in Irvine, CA at Thermador’s Experience Center. Guided by two Thermador chefs, we cooked and prepared dinner with their appliances. We also learned about induction cooktops, steam convection as an alternative to microwaves, and how cleaning enzymes in dishwasher detergents work.
This one meeting was selected only as one example of what we learn through continued education. Our ongoing education doesn’t just benefit us, it brings value to your home as well. Our constant search for best practices and new insights on sustainability likely mean we have the tools (not just the tools in our belts) to create a solution for your preferences or unique ideas.
If you would like to learn more about any of these topics, please get in touch. We are always willing to discuss what we are learning so it might provide value to your home.
